Separation of Employment
It is the policy of RTI International to treat its employees consistently with its core values. During employment terminations, RTI seeks to ensure that employment separations are handled in a professional manner with minimal disruption to the RTI business and service to RTI clients. Employment separations are either voluntary, involuntary, or due to death. Uzbekistan LN Employee Handbook February 2020 23 Voluntary Terminations Employees who resign RTI employment are asked to provide to their immediate supervisor at least 30 days written notice before their last day of employment to assist in the orderly transition of work. Failure to provide such notice may make an employee ineligible for rehire. A voluntary termination of employment will also be determined to have occurred when an employee is absent from work for three consecutive workdays and fails to contact his or her supervisor/manager during that time of absence. Involuntary Terminations Any involuntary termination of employment by RTI will be done in accordance with applicable law. All involuntary terminations must be approved in advance by the HR Business Partner in the Home Office and Legal. In some instances, RTI in its discretion may use progressive discipline or some other form of performance management prior to termination of employment. Severance may be available for certain involuntary terminations. The supervisor/manager is responsible for notifying the Regional HR office and the HR Business Partner within one (1) business day of the employee’s notice of termination to the manager so that the termination process can be initiated. The termination process will be managed by Regional HR office in conjunction with the terminated employee’s supervisor/manager. Upon termination of employment, Regional HR will endeavor to schedule an exit interview with the employee and review all benefits, final pay, and verification of return of company property. On or before the last day of employment, terminating employees must return all company property to Project HR or their supervisor/manager, including but not limited to such items as badges, identification cards, credit cards, laptops and keys. The last day worked will usually be the last day of employment and will not be extended by PTO. Final paychecks, less any monies owed RTI, will be made on the regular payday after employment ends unless otherwise required by applicable law. In addition, RTI may reduce employment because of adverse economic or business conditions. The HR Business Partner is notified by management whenever there are impending layoffs or reductions in work schedules. The HR Business Partner counsels management throughout the process to ensure that all RTI policies, procedures, and any applicable legal requirements are followed. Safety It is the policy of RTI to proactively protect the environment and the occupational health and safety of all our employees, contingent workforce, visitors, and neighbors by conducting business in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. RTI intends to fully comply with all applicable laws and regulations in countries where we do business. As part of our shared Uzbekistan LN Employee Handbook February 2020 24 accountability, employees incur an obligation to follow RTI policies and procedures, to actively participate in compliance with regulations applicable to their work, and to report violations. RTI’s Office of Occupational Health and Environment (OHE) is the office responsible to establish and administer the related programs and advises and counsels staff and management in all matters pertaining to safety, occupational health, and the environment. Details of the RTI safety and occupational health program are described on RTI Insider and in RTI Policy and Procedure 12.0, which is available on RTI Insider and through the employee’s supervisor and/or Human Resources.
